How to plan a room furniture layout
Before buying furniture, check its dimensions on a plan. A visually pleasing arrangement still needs comfortable routes and room to open doors, drawers and chairs.
Start with the room’s purpose
Define the activities that must fit: sleeping, working, relaxing, storage or hosting. In a combined room, mark zones and the path between the entrance, windows and main items.
Place large items first
Open a measured plan in Apaplan and add furniture from the catalog. Start with a bed or sofa, then add wardrobes, tables and storage. Verify width, depth and height against the chosen product.
Check the room in use
- Can you reach every zone without an awkward detour?
- Do open doors, drawers and sofa mechanisms have enough clearance?
- Can you reach windows, radiators, sockets and switches?
- Is there space behind a desk chair?
Compare variants
Move and rotate items, then review the result in 3D. Duplicate a project to keep alternative layouts and compare their routes and storage.
