Choosing a floor planner: ApaPlan and 9 alternatives
Looking for a free alternative to your current planner? Start with the result you need: checking furniture dimensions, viewing a room in 3D or preparing construction drawings. These tasks require different capabilities.

What ApaPlan offers
ApaPlan is a free floor planner at apa-plan.com: measured walls, windows and doors, furniture layout and interactive 3D viewing. It works in a browser on desktop, tablet and phone. Sign in with Google or email to work and save projects. No subscription or payment card is required.
Photo-to-3D generation and server-side automatic replanning are currently not connected on the public website. Custom models and textures may remain in the browser on the original device.

Consider ApaPlan as a Planoplan alternative for drawing dimensions and checking a layout in your browser. For a professional drawing package or photorealistic rendering, evaluate those Planoplan capabilities separately: ApaPlan’s interactive 3D view does not replace that deliverable.
ApaPlan and Roomtodo
Roomtodo is an online tool for floor planning, furnishing and viewing interiors in 3D. It supports visually exploring different room layouts.

Floorplanner offers a browser editor and 2D/3D visualization. Its website describes a free Basic account with optional credits and subscriptions for additional services.
When comparing Floorplanner and ApaPlan, distinguish layout editing from producing final images. ApaPlan’s free plan editor and interactive 3D suit checking dimensions and circulation. Check output resolution and rendering requirements separately in your chosen service.
ApaPlan and Sweet Home 3D
Sweet Home 3D is an open-source interior planning project with downloadable and online versions, plus resources for models and textures.
If open source and an installed application matter, explore Sweet Home 3D. ApaPlan offers another browser workflow: projects are saved to your account, while custom uploaded models may remain on the original device.
ApaPlan and HomeByMe
HomeByMe combines 2D planning, 3D furnishing and interior images. Its official website shows room examples and offers a free start.

ApaPlan and Планари / Planari
Planari describes workflows from apartment measurements or land data to furniture, estimates and documents. Its website mentions DXF/DWG measurements and a catalog with prices.
When choosing a Planari alternative, first identify your input format. In ApaPlan you can draw walls or upload a PNG, JPEG or WebP image. Do not assume DXF/DWG import or an automatic estimate simply because both products are floor planners.
ApaPlan and RoomPlan 3D
RoomPlan 3D describes drawing walls, furniture and finish catalogs, a virtual walkthrough and project export. Its website also describes saving projects in an account.
Compare RoomPlan 3D and ApaPlan using the same room: walls and openings, wardrobe dimensions, an interior view and reopening the project. Testing your own workflow is more useful than choosing only by catalog size.
Test your workflow with one project
- Measure one room, its openings and two large furniture items.
- Build the same plan in the selected editors, enter exact dimensions and check circulation in 3D.
- Save and reopen the project. If you need export or another device, test that workflow before moving your whole apartment.
